An inspiring day in San Francisco

Our members' plein air outing this month was a Bart trip across the bay to the San Francisco Ferry Building.  It was just a small group which included Carol Husslein, her husband Don, and Pat Strout.

It was a glorious day! Carol and Pat found a comfortable spot on the back side of the ferry building to sit and they ended up enjoying a long conversation - they had tea and talked for hours. How often do artists get to do that together?

They moved inside and shared cheese, meats, bread, olives and wine at the Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant...then chocolate! Neither artist actually made a mark on their paper all day, but they took plenty of reference photos to use later.

Sometimes our plein air excursions are about socializing with fellow artists, sometimes it's all about getting in some quality painting time - but either way it's sure to be a lovely day in a location brimming with creative inspiration. Join us next month for a trip north to Cline Cellars in Sonoma - visit our Activities page for details.
