2020 Plein Air Schedule

UPDATE
PLEIN AIR OUTINGS ARE CANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

Dear CAA Members and Friends,

Hope you’re keeping well and enjoying the warm indoors as we all adjust to our new normal!
At this time of the ever-developing situation and precautions to avoid contacting the COVID-19 virus, also known as the Coronavirus, we have decided to cancel our Plein Air outings until further notice.  This is a great time for us all to look out our windows or sit in our yards and find the beauty that there is to paint! Or if you’d rather, there are plenty of items in your home for still life paintings! However, if your planning on painting your cat, dog or “significant other” sleeping on the couch, make sure you take a picture first, just incase they decide to move! LOL!
Take care of yourselves and be well! Looking forward to meeting again when this situation is under control!

Elbow Hugs!

Health over Economics:
Cancelling Nancy Roberts demo on March 14

The Plein Air Workshop was canceled late last evening when CAA received word that the City of Concord manager had declared a local state of emergency. We attempted to notify as many possible attendees as possible. If you did show up, we apologize. We hope to reschedule the event in some form soon

Check out the Call for Artist for information on a Plein Air event at Galindo House in May.

First Plein Air Event of 2020-Saturday, March 14th, 10AM at the Galindo House

If you have not experienced plein air painting, 2020 is the year to give it a try! Pat McDermont and her committee have planned an exciting program of plein air outings for CAA members. Kicking off will be a visit to the beautiful grounds of the Galindo House in Concord. We have planned a very special program for the morning. Nancy Roberts, a well-known and prize-winning plein air artist, will lead a demo for the attendees. Nancy will demo using acrylic paints, but she can answer questions about other media including oil paints and watercolor. Check out Nancy's work at: https://www.nancyrobertsstudio.com/

Bring your paints, tools, canvasses, sketchbooks, cameras to the Galindo House at 1928 Clayton Road at 10am. You can park in the lot behind the house. Look for Pat and her team on the grounds. In case of rain, we will meet in the gazebo.

Is there another bonus for members attending this outing? Yes! CAA will host our first ever Plein Air Paint Out on Friday, May 1st...at the Galindo House. So, members who attend the March 14th outing will have a chance to practice their skills before the Paint Out!

There are open spots for "Event Flyer Creator Photographer/ Journalist!" If you are interested in "hosting" one of the open slots, email Pat McDermont, so she can add your name and phone number to the flyer.
